I have 2 laptops with real time sync setup, if works fine in office, and also outside office when vpn is enabled. when not in office and vpn NOT connected I do not want freefile sync to try sync is there a config option for that ?

If a location isn't accessible/available, the RTS icon in the systray will flash because of that error. While in this state, it will not start the command you entered into the configuration box
