Are you syncing between local disks? With a NAS, or otherwise across a LAN, or ...?

I was offered "ByteFence Anti-Malware", which I declined, clicked, Next, & the install then finished without incident.

You are running the actual installer, FreeFileSync_8.5_Windows_Setup.exe (or similar), downloaded from FFS.org?

What do your folder pairs & sync settings look like?

install.dat is specific to the specific FFS version. So FFS 8.4 install.dat is different from FFS 8.5 install.dat ... Also try a search for *.ffs_*.
You might find, LastRun.ffs_gui or specifically saved & named .ffs_gui or .ffs_batch files.

Delete the shortcut.
Ignore the rest.
Unless you actually set up to use a RealTimeSync, it does nothing.

Is there any procedure to remove all timestamps? I have no idea about that from the FFS end, but you should be able to do that with a file renamer. F8 brings up the Synchronization Settings window, & at the bottom of that screen there is an, On completion: dropdown.

Detect Moved Files might be able to do that - in a round-about way (& that also assumes that a Two-Way or MIrror sync work for you).

You loaded a particular Profile, Photography Drive, in this case.
During your sync, you made changes, in some way to the Profile settings, & when you went to exit, its just asking if you want to save those changes back to disk, to that Profile, Photography Drive.

I think it means that you also need to copy the Hidden-System file, Desktop.ini when you make your syncs. So in 12:Filters, you want to check the 'Hidden' box. --- If a folder has the Readonly or System flag set, then Explorer will look for a desktop.ini file which describes the folder customization...
