Re: Files (and not folders) sync
I don't understand the reason for your use-case, but if that's what you want ... After you first manually create the DestA, DestB and DestC folders you can create a FFS sync with multiple (three) left-right folders pairs: Pair1: left: Source; right DestA, and change the Pair1 specific include filter...

Also, as far as storing it as a batch-file, and use RealTimeSync (RTS) to trigger FFS to run the batch-file... I assume that means selecting "Saving as batch job..." Correct? And then checking the box for "Run Minimization," right? If so, what other selections should I make (or ...

Ok, thanks. But would the Sync variant be Mirror or Update (or even Custom) base on what I described? Thanks again... I don't think you need a Custom variant; either Mirror or Update will do. Re: File content comparison question
As pointed out earlier in other posts in this forum, a "verify" function after a copy action is not reliable, as in many cases the file that has just been copied might be read from cache rather than from disk. If the file still (co)resides in cache, there apparently is no way to force a re...

Re: File content comparison question
The FFS manual regarding Comparison Settings ( https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=comparison-settings ) is very clear on this: When using File Content as the comparison method (F6), there can be either of four comparison results. 1) file exists on left side only 2) file exists on right side o...

Just define the sync in FreeFileSync (FFS) and store as a batch-file,
and use RealTimeSync (RTS) to trigger FFS to run the batch-file.

Re: FreeFileSync Batch programs won't run correctly in Wimdows 10 Task Scheduler
Did you follow the instructions in the manual? (see here https://freefilesync.org/manual.php?topic=schedule-a-batch-job ) For scheduling you might need to call the FFS exe and define the batch-job as an argument, and can not just call the batch-job. Additionally: do you run the scheduled job with us...

If you (mirror or update) sync e.g. (left) C:\FolderA\FolderAA\FolderAAA\ to (right) D:\Folder1\, after the sync D:\Folder1\ will contain the content of C:\FolderA\FolderAA\FolderAAA\, but not the folder "FolderAAA" itself with its content. From your reaction, I take it that all the "...

The cited message is not an error, but a warning; you can decide to go ahead anyway if you are sure what you are doing is OK/safe. However, in your case you should not proceed! Just some hints:
* Verify that the .txt-file meets the criteria of your include filter
* Verify that the .txt-file does not meet the criteria of your exclude filter
* Verify that you are using the correct left-right folders
* Look at the results of (just) running a compare, and the suggested actions

Are those 4 folders really folders, or are they actually links?
If these folders are links, you might need to set the Symbolic Link handling to "Follow"
in the comparison settings.

Re: Feature request, one more
This already possible.
Just specify in the include-part of the file/folder filter
which files or file-types should be included.
E.g.: change the * (all) into *.jpg to include only jpg-files

You describe you use the Update-mode, your (difficult to read) picture shows you use a Custom-mode that, apart from how to handle conflicts, is identical to the Update-mode. In either case, any files existing on the target-side that do not or do no longer exist on the source-side will not be removed...

Re: Books Library - file attributes not update
In a Windows environment, file- and folder-names are case insensitive (although one can use a mix of upper- and lower-case in naming files and/or folders, and Windows will gladly remember this). For comparison, file names that are only (fully or partially) different in case, evaluate to being identi...

FFS does not support directly accessing FTP volumes.
However, indirectly it does, by mapping a FTP web space to a drive letter.
See the FFS Help-file.

It seems you are using the "Direct" method for Symbolic Link handling (see Help-file). If all else fails, you might try to create the Symbolic Link W:\Other yourself (once), pointing to W:\1\2\3\other, and use * the Exclude method for Symbolic Link handling if \1\2\3\other is included in t...

Re: One destination for more sources, or variable in destination path
Apparently FFS is different in its use-concept than Cobian. Looking at your description, it seems in FFS you only need to use three folder pairs, possibly in three different syncs. One of these would be: C:\ to D:\Backups In the Include Filter of the sync you can replace the * by the 10 folders to b...
