Re: Filenames not capitalized won't sync

I set up a file time/size, Update sync. Source was FFS instalDir Target was C:\OUT Ran that. Then went back & changed file extensions of the files in the /Languages/ directory to CAPS. A Compare at that point showed "Attribute" conflict, the CAPS vs. lowercase. I then "touched&quo...

Re: sync.ffs_lock is touching source folder modified date/time

I'll note, (Nirsoft's) FolderTimeUpdate . FolderTimeUpdate is a simple tool for Windows that scans all files and folders under the base folder you choose, and updates the 'Modified Time' of every folder according the latest modified time of the files stored in it. This tool might be useful if, for e...

Re: Can't backup outlook .pst mail files over network

Even though you've told FFS to use Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS), is the service actually running on your end?

Re: Tree overview panel

Have you (already) selected (at least) a source folder & run a Compare?
(If not, Overview remains blank until you do.)

Re: File retrieval

Nothing proprietary.
Depending on your settings; Copy, Move, Update or Delete.

You'll have to explain further just what you've done & what you are not seeing.

Re: How to make Mirror the default

Maybe something here, Command Line Usage?

Not sure if it would work, but maybe by setting a specific global config file & pointing to it from your desktop shortcut?

Re: How to access a NAS drive from FFS

(I'm not familiar with Linux...)

Type of & file system of the NAS?
How do you access the NAS normally, as in do you set up something like a Windows Share, mnt perhaps?, or do you use UNC paths?

Re: Files locked after sync

What OS are involved?

Do you (did you) have 'Copy DACL, SACL, Owner, Group' enabled in FFS?
If so, then maybe its just a permissions issue not being set correctly or sufficient on the other end?

Re: Problem with write protected files

Heh. Nirsoft just put out an update to his, OpenedFilesView - View opened/locked files in your system (sharing violation issues). Added 'Close Processes Of Selected Files'. As opposed to the 'Kill Processes Of Selected Files' option that brutally kills the process, this option sends a request to the...

Re: Problem with write protected files

What OS? Are you sure the file attribute is "read-only", as AFAICT, read-only should not be an issue. Possible that the files could be "locked" by by another process? Maybe the 'T' (Temporary) attribute could cause issues? Do you have the 'Copy locked files' Option (VSCS) enabled?

sync.ffs_lock is touching source folder modified date/time

FFS 5.10, Win XP sync.ffs_lock is bumping source folder modified date/time? I don't recall that happening in the past? It's not really a bug, per se, except that when viewing my directories in my file manager, I'm kind of used to certain directories being in certain relative locations (when sorted b...
