I installed in C:\Program Files\FreeFileSync. All seems fine and I didn't even needed to open the settings file.

How to update? I just install the program in the same folder as previous version (overwrite)?

How to update without losing settings and folders?
I want to update to the latest version but I'm afraid I may lose settings and the folders wich I synchronize.
