I have downgraded from Donation Edition v 13.5 to version 11.27 and it all works.

Thanks for the response.
The jobs were all set up with crontab -e, and I am the sole user. The batch files are all in a FFS directory under home as you can see. As I said, this USED to work fine. :-(

Strange new behaviour from cron

I have just set up a new machine with a fresh install of Ubuntu 22.04 (with xorg) and echo $DISPLAY :0. I do not know what the official line is but I tried installing the latest V10.1 and it did not polay nicely with Ubuntu 18.04. Went back to FreeFileSync_10.0_Ubuntu_17.10_64-bit which seems fine.

Rats. Would you believe the problem returned ?

I had to do a clean re-install. I have restored the user permissions for shutdown & I am using the same batch files...but shutdown is NOT occuring :-(

confused.
