Re: Error Code 5: Access denied (OpenProcess) ...
Hello Zenju, it's not so easy, because a Shutdownskript runs with System-rights. I can't make a dump with ProcessExplorer, it closes after 3 sec. I have a dump created with the microsoft taskmanager. It's 90MB, (compressed 30MB). Maybe you can reproduce: Make a batch, with - for example: Start /Wait...

feature request ... Backup with Device-ID / Volume-ID
Make Backup with Device-ID / Volume-ID like:
\\?\Volume{ec1ec388-6cd2-11e2-be65-806e6f6e6963}
So it is possible to make backup in a non visible Volume.

Re: vss timeout ...
I first need to find out what's going on in order to appy the correct fix. Most of the VSS API is already asynchronous, but this doesn't imply that the hang is in the asynchronous parts, too. Ok, next time, when i get this error, i create a dumpfile. For now i had this correct whith stopp and start...

Re: vss timeout ...
If you are able to reproduce the hang: Download the tool Process Explorer , then reproduce the hang with FFS, start Process Explorer, right-click on the FreeFileSync_x64.exe (or *_win32.exe if you're on 32-bit Windows), select "Create Dump" and then "full dump". Next, compress t...

vss timeout ...
When use vss, i suggest make a timeout and write a failure in the log. If there is any error with vss, ffs never ends. I use ffs with Windows task, run unvisible in the background. Nobdody can see any errors or problems.

Copy locked files (use vss) should not be a global option, better it is a option for each task individual.

Re: PROBLEM: Illegal Character in Log File Name (Windows)
Yes, i have the same Problem with Version 6.14 in Windows. FFS startet as Admin with a batchfile and create Logfiles. Logfilenames are with colums! (Name of the batch - Date - Time like: 07:15:19) So Logfiles are unusable in Windows.
