Does FFS backup Truecrypt volumes?

I have a folder on my PC with an encrypted Truecrypt volume in it. Now, (1) When I back up this folder (with the encrypted volume within it) to an external HDD using FFS, the files within the volume are not getting copied. (2) If I mount the encrypted volume using truecrypt and then sync the parent ...

Re: Error Code 53: The network path was not found. (CopyFileEx)

Seems like this was due to a problem in my router. A factory reset of the router solved this issue!

Re: FFS issues: Slow down of source PC & Slow transfer speeds

Update! Problem solved to a major extent! I did a factory reset of my router and then started FFS. Voila! The speed is terrific 2.33MB/s (double my usual rate). Moreover the CopyFileEx error which I was experiencing also got solved! Jumping with joy!!! The only issue now is that the source PC is sli...

Error Code 53: The network path was not found. (CopyFileEx)

I am trying to sync 2 folders over a home network. Running into this problem 3 minutes into every sync. I am able to browse to the folders over the network, however, FFS runs into this error. What is the advantage of a 'batch job' over simple .ffs_gui?

I presume that the batch file is to run a sync job (configuration) automatically using a scheduler. I read somewhere that even the .ffs_gui can be made to run using Task scheduler. If that's the case what's the added advantage of a batch file? It just saves one step: Compare to Sync. Can I add multi...

Does RealTimeSync do 'Mirror' syncing?

I usually manually backup multiple folders from my desktop PC to my laptop PC using separate .ffs_gui files (one for each folder). Can 'RealTimeSync' make my life simpler? In other words, can 'RealTimeSync' do these multiple mirroring jobs automatically when I switch on my PCs? I'm asking because 'R...

FFS issues: Slow down of source PC & Slow transfer speeds

I love FFS! I use FFS 6.3 on My win 8 laptop PC to mirror files from my desktop PC running win 8. Recently I noticed that the transfer rates are very slow (25% of what it used to be). Moreover when FFS is running in the laptop PC, the source PC (desktop) gets slowed down. It seems odd because I am j...

Re: Syncing has become slow lately...:-(

Another update. Now, FFS is not even completing my syncs. I frequently get
error codes (Saying that the said location is no longer there) and I have to
abort the entire operation. Driving me crazy. Such a wonderful piece of
software... Have I messed up something! :-(

Syncing has become slow lately...:-(

Freefilesync used to sync my files in a flash. Even large folders used to sync very quickly (after the first sync). But over the last 2 weeks I have noticed that FFS has become very slow. The folder which used to get synced in about 5-10 minutes now takes 1-2 hours! I have noticed that the sync spee...

Re: Error setting directory lock

Thanks for the reply! I have already set the permission to read & write. Despite this the program is occurring. I copied the specified file to the bin sub-folder but the problem persisted. But so far the syncing is okay despite the error report! I would choose to ignore this error so long as my ...

Now, after every sync I get this error: Error setting directory lock:..........directory path\sync.ffs_lock. Windows error code 5: Access is denied. Why is this happening. What can i do to solve ...
